Cookie Policy
Last Updated: July 2026
Quick Summary
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and local storage qualabs.com uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. We keep tracking to a minimum: only strictly necessary storage is used by default, and no analytics or marketing cookies are set until you choose to allow them. If you have questions, contact us at legal@qualabs.com.
This policy complements our Privacy Policy, which describes in more detail how we collect and use your personal data.
1. What Are Cookies and Local Storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember information about your visit. Local storage is a similar browser mechanism that keeps small pieces of data on your device until they are cleared. We use both, but only for the limited purposes described below.
2. Cookies and Storage We Use
The table below lists every cookie and local storage entry qualabs.com may set, grouped by the consent category it belongs to.
| Name | Category | Storage | Purpose | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Analytics | Cookie | Google Analytics — distinguishes unique visitors to measure site usage | Up to 2 years |
_ga_F8E2334HYV |
Analytics | Cookie | Google Analytics — persists session state for our specific GA4 property | Up to 2 years |
qualabs_cookie_consent |
Necessary | localStorage | Remembers your cookie consent choice so the banner is not shown again | Until you clear it |
IP anonymization: Google Analytics is configured with IP anonymization enabled, so your full IP address is not stored. In addition, Google Analytics data is retained for a limited period (approximately 13–14 months) before it is automatically deleted.
3. Consent Categories
We manage cookies through Google Consent Mode v2 on a region-aware basis, organized into three categories:
- Necessary — always on. Required for the site to function and to remember your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics — helps us understand how visitors use the site (Google Analytics).
- Marketing — used to measure and support campaigns and outreach.
For visitors in the EEA and UK, no cookies in the Analytics or Marketing categories are set until you opt in through the consent banner. For visitors in the United States, these categories are active by default and you can opt out at any time, including through the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" control in your cookie preferences.
4. How to Change Your Consent
You can review or change your cookie choices at any time. Use the button below to reopen the preferences dialog, then accept or reject the optional categories.
Your preference is stored on your device under the
qualabs_cookie_consent entry. Clearing your browser storage will reset it, and
the banner will appear again on your next visit.
5. Controlling Cookies in Your Browser
Beyond our preferences dialog, you can control or delete cookies directly in your browser. Most browsers let you block or remove cookies and clear local storage from their settings or privacy menus. Refer to your browser's help pages for instructions:
- Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge each provide cookie and site-data controls in their privacy settings.
- Blocking necessary storage may prevent parts of the site from working as expected, and it may cause the cookie banner to reappear on every visit.
6. Third-Party Cookie Information
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use. You can learn more about how they handle data here:
- Google Analytics: policies.google.com/privacy
- Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.): mailchimp.com/legal/cookies
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
